Orlando Child Support Attorneys

Child support and alimony are used to make sure families are financially whole after a divorce or the end of a relationship that involves children. At Roberts & Robold, P.A., our attorneys represent clients who need legal assistance establishing, enforcing or modifying child support and alimony arrangements.

Child Support

Florida law recognizes that the best interest of the child is served when both parents are involved in meeting his or her emotional and financial needs. Child support is set by guidelines that use a formula to calculate child support. As with all calculations, the quality of the result depends on the quality of the numbers put into the formula.

Our lawyers are familiar with every nuance of the child support guidelines and will make certain the amount of support you pay or are paid will be fair. Child support guidelines consider the needs of the child, the income of both parents and the contributions for day care expenses and health insurance.

The amount of overnight visitation also affects the level of child support. If a child spends more than 40 percent of his or her overnights with the noncustodial parent, the child support requirements will be reduced.
